At the end of a meeting that lasted under 15 minutes, the PCB, BCCI, and ICC were asked to come up with a formula that would be acceptable to all parties concerning the venue for the Champions Trophy. It has been reported that any formula proposed and approved must also receive clearance from both the Indian and Pakistani governments.

ICC has given Pakistan an ultimatum – either agree to a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy whereby India’s matches are held at some other neutral venues or they will be without a slot in the Champions Trophy, it has been learnt after BCCI has dismissed all plans to send the Indian team across the border in the upcoming ICC event.

At the meeting on Friday (November 29), which started at 2:30 PM UAE time (4 PM IST), the BCCI cited Indian government’s advice against traveling to Pakistan, while PCB stood firm on its opposition to the much-talked-about hybrid model and sought an alternative that could work.

The insistence of the Pakistan Cricket Board on hosting the ICC event exclusively on home turf prompted an emergency meeting on Friday without a resolution. Further discussions are scheduled for Saturday.
